Aalto Campus: A compact, connected and modern conference venue
Aalto University is located about 6 km to the north-west of Helsinki city center. The new, modern metro connection opened in 2017 provides a quick and easy way to get to Aalto from central locations in Helsinki. In particular, there are over 5,000 hotel rooms along this metro line, with at most 14 min metro travel time to the campus.
Moreover, this is the only metro line in Helsinki, which makes traveling between the campus and the hotels very simple and easy. To make this even easier, all delegates will be provided public transportation pass for the duration of the conference.
Aalto Campus provides state-of-the-art conference facilities, combining brand new buildings with iconic Alvar Aalto architecture.
The scientific program is organized in three buildings located very close to each other:
1. Undergraduate center
2. Väre building
3. Computer science building
All buildings are fully accessible by wheelchair
The majority of the program will be organized in the Undergraduate Center. This building has 45 rooms for at least 30 persons, conveniently over only 2 floors. Together, the three buildings offer over 100 different-sized rooms, making it possible to find the best possible combination for the conference needs. All rooms are equipped with top-of-the-line AV-equipment. There are many spacious hallways in which exhibitions can be organized.
Buffet lunch is included in the conference fee and served in three campus restaurants from 11 am to 3 pm. These three restaurants have seats for over 1,000 persons. Coffee is served twice a day at 3-4 different locations. Lunch and coffee break catering services are produced by Fazer Food & Co.
Two free-of-charge wifi connection networks (Eduroam and Aalto open) are available for conference delegates.
